Mike Vick is set to be released from prison on July 20th of next year. The Sporting News reports that when he gets out, he will try to ease his way back into the game by playing on a UFL team. The UFL is a new 6 team league that the NFL is forming. Vick is suspended indefinitely from the NFL, but should he be let back in?
I think that he should, but i'm not a bad person. I don't in any way agree with his actions. I think that dog fighting is a horrible thing to do. I mean, he is a stupid man, but NFL players have done stupid things before. Look at Pacman Jones. He goes hanging out in titty bars but yells at the strippers when they try to take his money. And they suspend him for a year but then they let him back in. Then he got in trouble with the law again. And the NFL let him back in. He is a repeated offender and he never learns his lesson. But it's ok for him to come back but not Mike Vick? That doesn't make sense to me.
Another good example is the recent incident involving Plaxico Burress. He brought an unlicensed, loaded gun into a club. A loaded gun in a public place. He endangered everyone in that club by bringing that gun in there. But all that i hear on TV and all that i read doesn't talk about how long he's going to jail or how much trouble he's in, i hear about what team he should play for when it's all over and should the Giants keep him around or release him? That doesn't make any sense either. He could have killed someone but no one seems to care. When he gets out, he's right back in the NFL. But they won't let Mike Vick back?
Mike Vick did wrong and he knows that, but there are other players that have broken the law and they got put right back into the NFL. Why should it be different for Vick? Dog fighting is a terrible thing to do, but does that mean that beating up strippers and bringing a loaded gun into a crowded club is ok? Vick isn't the only one. So let him back in, not because he's a good guy (he isn't) but because that's how you've treated everyone else.
