Yankee's right-handed pitcher, Joba Chamberlain, was arrested for driving under the influence, speeding, and having an open container in his vehicle. And yes I too am sick and tired of hearing about pro athletes getting arrested and being in all other types of scandals. Although Chamberlain messed up big time, at least he realized what he has done and I believe he is truly sorry for is actions. Chamberlain was quoted apologizing for his mistake.
"I to apologize to the New York Yankees and the fans for an error in judgement and for putting myself in a difficult situation. I intend to properly resolve this situation, and do not intend to be in such a situation again. My goal is to focus on pitching for the Yankees in the 2009 season."

I think this statement was sincere. He made a mistake and is accepting his consequences like an adult should. Chamberlain is only 23 years old so he is young and can learn from this experience and use it to become a better role model for all of his fans. The Yankees co-chairman Hank Steinbrenner said that the organization plans to support him and give him any help he may need. Steinbrenner said that everybody deserves a second chance and I have to agree with him on that. Nobody is perfect and everybody is going to make bad choices. As long as you learn from those choices and not let them happen again you deserve a second chance and sometimes maybe even a third.

I totally agree. This is the first time that i heard about the yankee pitcher being locked up, and i found the post interesting. I agree that everyone should get another chance and learn from their mistakes. However, i dunno about a third chance, i mean if you are a pitcher for a major league team you should be a role model and you shouldn't be allowed to mess up constantly.
At least he wasn't busted for steroids... but I think being in the major leagues went to his head.
