And the MVP is...

Albert Pujols. Enough said. This guy is amazing. Can you tell how much of a Pujols fan I am? Albert Pujols is arguably the best in baseball. He has been putting up amazing numbers since his rookie season and he still seems to be going strong at 28 years old. If he continues to play the way he has been for the rest of his career and he stays injury free, then I think he will with out a doubt be the best baseball player ever. Ok, so you might think I'm going a little over bored here. But I don't care because I absolutely love this guy. Not only is he a really good baseball player he is also a really great guy. Along with winning the NL MVP this year he also won the Roberto Clemente Award. This award recognizes the player who best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individuals contribution to his team. He is also involved in many charitable organizations such as the Pujols Family Foundation which is dedicated to the love, care and development of people with down syndrome.

Sorry I got a little side tracked there. Lets get back to Pujols winning the MVP award. His magnificent season earned him his second MVP award Monday night. He beat out Philadelphia's Ryan Howard, who finished just ahead of him in the MVP race last year. Pujols has finished in the top 10 in the voting in every single one of his eight seasons in the major leagues. This is another good argument of why he is the best in baseball. Pujols became the 11th player to win two NL MVP awards and he's one of only three active players with two of these awards. And something tells me there will be more MVP's sitting on Pujols' shelf before he retires. I'll leave you with a comment from Pujols,
"I have to thank my teammates. Obviously this is not an award that you win by yourself. My teammates were involved everyday, day in, day out, supporting me, getting on base and driving me in. These kinds of numbers, you can't do it by yourself."
