Well at least the Los Angeles Galaxy have something going for them this season. Their own defender Sean Franklin has been named the 2008 Gatorade Rookie of the Year. Sean started 26 out of 27 games and recorded one assist.
The 23 year old native of Palmdale, California and 2008 graduate of Cal State Northridge was the Galaxy's first pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft and the fourth overall selection. He is the first Los Angeles Galaxy player to win Rookie of the Year.
The MLS Gatorade Rookie of the Year winner received the most votes from polling of media, players and coaches and general managers.
At least the Galaxy's future looks a little brighter and that their might be some talent on the horizon other than David Beckham and Landon Donovan. A team with those two players should hardly fall below second place in their conference, let alone tie for last in the entire league.
